Over 200 triathletes will descend on Khorfakkan for the first race in the second series of the Oceanic Triathlon on Friday 21 October, hosted by the beautiful Oceanic Hotel Resort and Spa.
The Oceanic Triathlon will see athletes with a range of experience swimming in the Oceanic Hotel Resort and Spa’s natural bay, cycle through the rolling hills of Khorfakkan, followed by a run on the corniche before returning to the hotel for a post event celebration with friends and family.
Organisers of the event are encouraging all keen cyclists, runners, swimmers, general fitness enthusiasts and their friends and family to make this a weekend to remember by staying at the Oceanic Hotel Resort and Spa from only AED500 per room, per night – an exclusive accommodation package for the race weekend.
Now in its second year, the series consist of three races with two distances on offer at each race catering for all fitness levels, experience and ages. The Short Course consists of an 800 metre swim, followed by a 30 kilometre cycle course and a 7 kilometre run, the Super Sprint consists of a 375 metre swim, a 12 kilometre cycle and a 2.5 kilometre run.
Speaking about the Oceanic Triathlon Series, Race Director Trace Rogers said: “Excitement is building for the launch of the second series and we are confident this will once again be a successful event. We always welcome those that are new to the sport and with our Super Sprint we hope to encourage athletes of all ages and experience to take part.”
